Watch on two screens at once — for example, sport in one room and a film in another.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions people ask most often — devices, setup, price and how to start.

What is IPTV, and how does it work?

IPTV is television delivered over your internet connection instead of through an aerial or a dish. With this service, programmes are watched inside the app or setup for your device — each device has its own app or setup. You install or open the right one for your device, sign in, and browse by category — Sports, Entertainment, Movies and TV.

How much does it cost?

Plans start from £12/month. The price depends on two choices: how long the plan runs (1, 3, 6 or 12 months) and how many devices can watch at once (1, 2 or 3). Each plan shows its total price and its per-month equivalent. You can compare every option on the .

Which devices does it work on?

Firestick, Smart TV, Android phones and tablets (and Android TV), iPhone & iPad (iOS), Mac, and laptop (Windows, through VLC Media Player). Each device has its own app or setup — Firestick and Smart TV use different apps, Android and iOS have their own apps, and laptop works through VLC — and we send you the right one for yours along with your login.

How do I set it up and activate my plan?

Start by messaging us, choosing a plan and telling us your device. We then send you the app or what you need for that device and your username and password. For example, on Firestick you open Downloader and enter the address we provide; on laptop you open what we send you in VLC Media Player; on other devices you install the app we send or direct you to. Then sign in with the details we sent. The full walk-through for each device is on the Installation Guide page.

Can I watch on more than one device?

Yes. As well as the single-device option, there are plans for 2 Devices and for 3 Devices, which let two or three screens play at the same time. Pick the number that matches how your household actually watches.

What can I watch?

Sports, entertainment, movies and general TV, organised in categories inside the app. You can see the sports and streaming brands included on the .

Can I try it before I buy?

Yes — we offer a free trial. Message us and we will set you up so you can try the service before choosing a plan.

How do I get started?

Choose a plan on the Pricing page, then message us to get started and tell us your device. We will provide the app or what you need for your device and your sign-in details, and you can follow the Installation Guide for your device from there.

How Much Does IPTV Cost in the UK?

A cosy UK living room with a wall-mounted TV showing a live football match, illustrating the cost of IPTV in the UK for watching sport at home.

If you are new to IPTV, the hardest part is often working out what it should cost. Prices are shown in different ways — monthly, yearly, per device — which makes comparing them confusing. This guide uses one real set of prices throughout, so you can see how the cost changes with the only two choices that matter: how many devices watch at the same time, and how long you pay for in advance.

The short answer

With , IPTV starts at £12 for one month on 1 device. The best value plan is 3 devices for a full year at £90, which works out at £7.50 per month. Every price is a one-off prepaid total for the whole period — you pay it once, upfront, and that is the full cost for those months.

The full price list

Here is every plan, exactly as shown on our page:

Devices1 Month3 Months6 Months1 Year
1 Device£12£25£35£50
2 Devices£24£30£50£60
3 Devices£30£40£65£90

A few things worth noticing in that table. First, the jump from one month to longer periods is where the savings are: 1 device for a year costs £50, while paying month by month would cost £12 twelve times over. Second, adding devices does not multiply the price in a straight line — 3 devices for a year is £90, which is less than double the 1-device yearly price. Third, the 3-month and 6-month options sit in the middle if you do not want to commit to a full year straight away.

What the monthly cost really works out at

Because each price is a prepaid total, the easiest way to compare plans is to divide the total by the number of months:

  • 1 Device: £12/month on the monthly plan, about £8.33/month over 3 months (£25), about £5.83/month over 6 months (£35), and about £4.17/month over a year (£50).
  • 2 Devices: £24/month monthly, £10/month over 3 months (£30), about £8.33/month over 6 months (£50), and £5/month over a year (£60).
  • 3 Devices: £30/month monthly, about £13.33/month over 3 months (£40), about £10.83/month over 6 months (£65), and £7.50/month over a year (£90) — the best deal.

This is why the period you choose matters just as much as the plan itself: paying yearly instead of monthly can halve what you spend per month.

Choosing by the number of devices

The devices figure means how many screens can watch at the same time, so think about your household at its busiest moment, not on an average day.

1 device

Best if it is just you, or the TV is only ever on in one room at a time. It is the cheapest way in and a sensible starting point if you are new to IPTV.

2 devices

A good middle option for couples or smaller households — for example, the living room TV plus a phone, tablet or second TV used at the same time.

3 devices

Built for busier households, where two or three people may all be watching different things at once. Per device, it is the cheapest way to cover everyone, especially on the yearly plan. Our page explains how watching on several screens works.

Choosing by length of plan

If you are brand new, a 1-month plan keeps your first payment small while you get used to the service. If you already know IPTV suits you, the 6-month and 1-year plans bring the monthly cost down a lot, and you only renew once or twice a year. Many people start short, then move to a longer plan at renewal.

Try it before you commit

We offer a free trial, so you can check the service on your own device and your own internet connection before paying for a plan. To start, just send us a message on WhatsApp through and we will set you up. If you have questions first — about devices, setup or which plan fits your home — the answers to the ones we hear most are on our page.

The bottom line

IPTV in the UK does not have to be expensive or complicated. Start from the number of screens your household genuinely uses at once, pick the longest period you are comfortable paying upfront, and you will land on the best price for you. For most families, that is the 3 devices, 1 year plan at £90 — £7.50 a month for the whole house.

How to Set Up IPTV on a Firestick

A streaming stick plugged into a TV showing a boxing fight, with a remote in hand, showing how to set up IPTV on Firestick.

The Amazon Firestick is one of the easiest devices to watch IPTV on, and setting it up is mostly a one-time job. You do not need any technical experience — if you can install an app and type in a code, you can do this. The whole process follows the same order for every customer: you message us, we send you what your Firestick needs, you install it, sign in with the details we provide, and watch. Here is each step in full.

Before you start

Make sure your Firestick is plugged in, connected to your TV and online. You will also need the Downloader app, which is free from the Firestick's own app store — search for "Downloader" on the home screen and install it if it is not already there. Finally, keep your phone nearby, because the first step happens on WhatsApp.

The setup, step by step

Step 1: Message us first

Everything starts with a message. Send us a WhatsApp message through and tell us you want to watch on a Firestick. We will reply with the download address for the Firestick app and, once your plan or free trial is set up, the username and password you will sign in with. The Firestick uses its own app — different from the Smart TV app — so it is important to use the one we send you for this device.

Step 2: Turn on "Install unknown apps" for Downloader

The Firestick blocks apps installed through Downloader until you allow them, so this setting has to be switched on first:

  1. From the Firestick home screen, open Settings.
  2. Go to My Fire TV, then Developer options.
  3. Open Install unknown apps.
  4. Find Downloader in the list and switch it On.

If you cannot see Developer options at all, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and click on your Fire TV's name several times — the Developer options menu will then appear back in the My Fire TV list.

Step 3: Enter the download address in Downloader

Open the Downloader app and type in the download address we gave you in Step 1, exactly as it was sent — every letter and number matters, and there should be no spaces. Then confirm to start the download. The Firestick app will download onto your device.

Step 4: Accept the terms and tap "Allow"

As the app finishes downloading and opens for the first time, accept the terms and conditions and tap "Allow" when it asks for access to your media files — this is required for the app to run smoothly — then choose Open once it has finished. Do not skip the "Allow" tap: the app needs that permission to work properly, and skipping it is a common reason for problems straight after installing.

Step 5: Sign in with the details we provided

When the app opens, sign in with the username and password we sent you. Type them carefully — passwords are case-sensitive, and an extra space at the end can stop the sign-in from working. If you are starting with the free trial, use the details we gave you for the trial in exactly the same way.

Step 6: Start watching

That is the setup complete. Your channels and content will load inside the app, and from now on you simply open the app on your Firestick whenever you want to watch. This same order — install, sign in, watch — is also summarised on our .

If something does not work

  • The download does not start: check the address letter by letter against the one we sent you, and make sure your Firestick is connected to the internet.
  • The app opens but does not run smoothly: you may have skipped the media permission in Step 4. The app needs you to accept the terms and tap "Allow" for access to your media files, so go back and allow it.
  • Sign-in fails: retype your username and password slowly, watching for capital letters and spaces.
  • Still stuck: unplug the Firestick for 30 seconds, plug it back in and try again — then message us on WhatsApp if it is still not working.

Watching on something else as well?

A Firestick plan can cover more than one screen: our plans run on 1, 2 or 3 devices at the same time, and your other screens can be a Smart TV, phone, tablet, Mac or laptop. Each type of device has its own app or setup, which we send you when you need it. See the full list on our page, and check if you want to add more devices to your plan.

How to Watch IPTV on a Laptop with VLC

A laptop on a home desk showing a football match next to headphones and a mug of tea, showing how to watch IPTV on a laptop with VLC.

Not every screen in the house needs a TV or a streaming stick. If you have a laptop, you already have a screen you can watch IPTV on — in the kitchen, in bed, in a hotel room or at a desk. On a laptop, works through VLC Media Player, a free and very widely used video player. There is no separate laptop app to buy or install from us: you install VLC once, paste in the link we send you, and press Play. This guide walks through it step by step.

What you need

  • A laptop connected to the internet
  • VLC Media Player (free — see Step 1)
  • The stream link we send you (see Step 2)
  • A few minutes, the first time only

The setup, step by step

Step 1: Install VLC Media Player

If VLC is not already on your laptop, download and install it first. VLC is free, and the standard installation is all you need — no paid version, no add-ons. Once it is installed, you will recognise it by its orange traffic cone icon. If VLC is already installed, it is worth opening it once and letting it update if it offers to, so you are on a recent version before you start.

Step 2: Message us for your link

Our setup always starts the same way: send us a message on WhatsApp through and tell us you want to watch on a laptop. We will send you the link your laptop needs, along with the details for your plan or free trial. Keep that message handy — you will copy the link from it in Step 4. Copying and pasting is much more reliable than typing a long link out by hand, so do not retype it if you can avoid it.

Step 3: Open VLC and find "Open Network Stream"

Open VLC on your laptop. In the menu bar at the top, click Media. In the menu that drops down, click Open Network Stream. A window will open with a box for a network address or URL. This is how VLC plays anything that is streamed over the internet rather than saved as a file on your computer — which is exactly what your IPTV link is.

Step 4: Paste the link and press Play

Click into the address box in that window and paste the link we sent you — the whole link, from the beginning to the very end, with nothing added and nothing missing. Then click Play. Give it a few seconds to connect, and your stream will start playing in the VLC window. That is the whole setup: VLC remembers nothing you need to re-enter each time beyond this, and the same short process is summarised on our .

Step 5: Watching comfortably

Once the stream is playing, you can resize the VLC window like any other app, or watch full screen — double-click the picture, or use the full-screen button, to fill the laptop screen. The spacebar pauses and resumes, and the volume slider is at the bottom of the player. If you want to watch again later, just open VLC, go back to Media → Open Network Stream, paste the link again if it is not still there, and press Play.

If the stream does not start

  • Nothing happens after Play: the link is usually incomplete. Go back to our message, copy the link again in full, and paste it into a fresh Open Network Stream window.
  • VLC reports it cannot open the stream: check the laptop is actually online by opening any website, then try again.
  • It worked before but not now: close VLC completely, reopen it, and repeat Step 4. A restart clears most one-off glitches.
  • Still not playing: send us a message on WhatsApp and tell us what VLC says on screen — an error message helps us point you to the right fix.

Your laptop as one of your devices

Watching on a laptop counts as one of your devices, and our plans cover 1, 2 or 3 devices watching at the same time — so a laptop can sit alongside a Firestick or Smart TV on the same plan. If you are deciding how many devices your household needs, see , and for the other screens you can use, from phones to Smart TVs, see our page. Common questions are answered on our page.

How to Install IPTV on a Smart TV (Samsung & LG)

A large wall-mounted Smart TV showing a boxing fight while a viewer holds the remote, showing how to install IPTV on a Smart TV.

Watching IPTV directly on a Smart TV is one of the neatest ways to do it — no extra box, no extra remote, just an app on the TV you already own. Samsung and LG sets are the ones we are asked about most, and while the exact steps vary between brands, models and even the year the TV was made, the overall process is simple. This guide explains how our setup works, then walks through the general steps for Samsung and LG TVs so you know what to expect.

How our Smart TV setup works

Every setup starts the same way: you message us, and we send you what your device needs. For Smart TVs this matters more than for most devices, because there is no single "Smart TV app" that suits every set. Samsung TVs run Samsung's own system (Tizen) and LG TVs run webOS, and the apps available — and sometimes the steps to install them — differ between brands, models and years.

So the first step is always to send us a message on WhatsApp and tell us the make and model of your TV. We then send you the right app and the steps for your exact TV, along with the username and password for your plan or free trial. You install the app, sign in, and watch. The summary version of this process lives on our page.

Before you start

A few quick checks make the setup smoother:

  • Your TV is connected to the internet. Most setup problems turn out to be a TV that has quietly dropped off the Wi-Fi. Check the network settings menu and reconnect if needed.
  • You know your TV's brand and model. The model is usually on a sticker on the back of the TV, and also in the settings menu under Support or About This TV.
  • You have your phone handy. Your sign-in details and the app instructions will arrive by WhatsApp message, so it helps to have the phone next to you while you work through the TV menus.

General steps for Samsung Smart TVs

Samsung sets differ by year, but the general shape of the process is:

  1. Message us first and tell us it's a Samsung TV, with the model if you have it. We'll confirm the right app and steps for your set.
  2. Open the app store on the TV. Press the Home button on the remote and look for "Apps". This is Samsung's app store for the TV.
  3. Find and install the app we sent you. Use the search icon inside Apps, type the app name exactly as we gave it to you, and select Install.
  4. Open the app and sign in with the username and password we provided, typing them carefully — the TV remote makes it easy to slip a wrong character in, and passwords are case-sensitive.
  5. Start watching. Your content loads inside the app, organised by category.

General steps for LG Smart TVs

LG's process is similar, with LG's own names for things:

  1. Message us first with your LG model, and we'll send the right app and steps for your TV.
  2. Open the LG Content Store. Press the Home button and select the LG Content Store from the launcher bar along the bottom of the screen.
  3. Search for and install the app we sent you. Use the store's search, enter the app name exactly as provided, and install it.
  4. Open the app and sign in with the details we provided, then start watching.

If your LG TV is a few years old, the Content Store layout may look a little different from newer sets — another reason we ask for your model, so the steps we send match the menus you'll actually see.

What if your TV can't install the app?

Very occasionally, an older Smart TV can't install any suitable app, or runs too slowly to be enjoyable. That doesn't lock you out of the service — it just means a different device does the work. A Firestick plugged into the same TV is the most common fallback, and phones, tablets, Macs and laptops all work too. Our page lists every option, and whichever screen you use counts towards the devices on your plan in the same way.

A note on keeping things smooth

Once you're set up, two small habits help. First, keep the app updated when the TV offers an update — outdated apps are a common cause of odd behaviour. Second, if the app ever plays up, fully closing and reopening it, or restarting the TV from the plug for 30 seconds, clears most one-off glitches.

Ready to set up your TV?

Tell us your TV's make and model and we'll send you the right app, the steps for your set, and your sign-in. If you're still choosing a plan, shows every option for 1, 2 and 3 devices, and common questions are answered on our page.

IPTV Buffering on Firestick: How to Fix It

A football match frozen on a TV with a loading spinner while a viewer waits with the remote, illustrating an IPTV buffering on Firestick fix.

Few things are more frustrating than a stream that keeps pausing, spinning or dropping to a blurry picture — especially ten minutes into a match or a film. The good news is that most Firestick buffering has ordinary causes: a stick that hasn't been restarted in weeks, a full app cache, or a Wi-Fi signal that's struggling to reach the TV. This guide works through the fixes in the order we'd try them, from the quickest wins first. One honest note before we start: no guide can promise buffering will never happen again — live streaming depends on your connection as well as the app — but these steps fix the large majority of cases we see.

Step 1: Restart the Firestick properly

The Firestick is designed to stay plugged in, so many are never properly restarted — they just sleep. Over time that can leave it sluggish. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Restart, or simply unplug the stick from power for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Let it fully boot up, open your app, and try the stream again. This one step clears a surprising amount of buffering.

Step 2: Clear the app's cache

Apps store temporary files (the cache) to load faster, but a bloated or corrupted cache causes stutters and freezes. Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications, select your IPTV app, and choose Clear cache. Don't worry — clearing the cache doesn't delete your sign-in or the app itself; it just removes temporary files, and the app rebuilds them as you watch.

Step 3: Check the speed actually reaching the TV

Your broadband package speed and the speed at the TV are often two different numbers. Run a speed test from the Firestick itself — there are free speed test apps in the Firestick's app store, and some routers have a test in their app — so you're measuring the connection where you watch, not next to the router. If the figure at the TV is far lower than your package speed, the problem is between the router and the stick, which the next steps tackle. For a guide to how much speed streaming typically needs, see our article on .

Step 4: Tackle router distance and Wi-Fi band

Wi-Fi weakens through walls, floors and furniture, and TVs are often in the worst spot — in a corner, behind a cabinet. If you can, moving the router even a room closer, or raising it off the floor, can make a real difference. Also check which Wi-Fi band the Firestick is using: most routers offer 2.4GHz and 5GHz. As a general guide, 5GHz is typically faster over short distances, while 2.4GHz usually reaches further through walls — so the better band depends on where your router sits. Try the other band in the Firestick's network settings and see which behaves better at your TV.

Step 5: Consider a wired connection

If Wi-Fi stays unreliable, the Firestick can be wired straight to the router with a simple Ethernet adapter made for the Firestick — a small, inexpensive accessory that plugs into the stick. A wired connection removes Wi-Fi from the equation entirely and is the most dependable option if your router is anywhere near the TV.

Step 6: Close background apps and free up the stick

The Firestick can only do so much at once. Apps left running in the background, a nearly full storage, and pending system updates all eat into its performance. Force-close apps you're not using from the Manage Installed Applications menu, uninstall anything you no longer need, and let any system update install (Settings → My Fire TV → About → Check for Updates).

Step 7: Check what else is using your connection

Buffering that only happens at certain times of day often means the connection is being shared hard: someone else streaming in another room, a games console downloading a large update, or cloud backups running. Try pausing other heavy usage and test the stream again. If your household regularly has two or three screens going at once, that's also worth factoring into your plan — our plans cover watching at the same time.

Still buffering?

Work through the steps in order rather than skipping to the drastic ones, and change one thing at a time so you can tell what helped. If you've tried them all and a particular stream still struggles while everything else in the house works fine, message us on WhatsApp via and tell us what you've already tried — that saves time and helps us point you to the right next check. Our also recaps the standard Firestick setup, in case anything was missed at install time.

How to Watch IPTV on iPhone & iPad

A person relaxing in bed watching a football match on a tablet, showing how to watch IPTV on iPhone and iPad.

Your iPhone or iPad might be the easiest screen you own for IPTV — it's the one that's already in your hand, in the kitchen, in bed, or on the train. With , watching on iOS uses the Supa Legacy IPTV app from the App Store: you message us, we send your login, you install the app, enter our provider code, sign in and watch. This guide walks through the setup and a few things worth knowing about watching on the move.

What you need

Just your iPhone or iPad connected to the internet, and a few spare minutes. There's no extra hardware and nothing to buy — your phone or tablet is one of the devices on your plan, covered by the same options on our page, whether that's a plan for 1, 2 or 3 devices watching at the same time.

The setup, step by step

Step 1: Message us first

Send us a message on WhatsApp through and tell us you want to watch on iPhone or iPad. Once your plan or free trial is arranged, we'll send you the username and password you'll sign in with. For iPhone and iPad we use the Supa Legacy IPTV app, so there's no need to pick a random player app from the store — the steps below use that app.

Step 2: Install the Supa Legacy IPTV app

Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad, search for Supa Legacy IPTV (by Shaker Hussain) and install it. It's a standard App Store install — the same as any other app. If you're setting up more than one Apple device, you'll need the app on each one, but they can all use the same plan within your device allowance.

Step 3: Enter the provider code

Open the app and tap Provider Code on the sign-in screen. Enter the code 2580 and continue. This connects the app to our service, ready for your sign-in.

Step 4: Sign in with the details we sent you

Enter the username and password we sent you. Type them exactly as they appear in our message — passwords are case-sensitive, and an accidental space at the start or end is the most common reason a first sign-in fails. If you're copying and pasting from our message, that avoids the problem altogether.

Step 5: Start watching

That's the setup done. Your content loads inside the app, browsable by category, and from then on you just tap the app whenever you want to watch. The same order — message, install, sign in, watch — is summarised on our , alongside the steps for every other device.

Watching away from home

Because your iPhone or iPad travels with you, it's the natural screen for watching away from the sofa — another room, the garden, a hotel, or visiting family. As long as the device is online, you sign in exactly as you do at home; there's nothing extra to set up for a different location. Just remember that an iPad on a train counts as one of your plan's devices while you're watching on it, the same as any other screen.

Wi-Fi or mobile data?

At home, Wi-Fi is the obvious choice and costs you nothing in data. On the move, mobile data works too, but it's worth being thoughtful about it: video streaming uses data at a rate that can vary a lot with picture quality and how long you watch, so a long session on mobile data can make a noticeable dent in a monthly allowance. As a general rule, use Wi-Fi for longer watching when you can — a hotel, café or family member's connection is ideal — and keep mobile data for shorter sessions, or lower the picture quality in the app's settings if it offers that option and you're watching on data for a while.

Small tips for a smooth experience

  • Keep the app and iOS reasonably up to date. Older app versions are a common cause of sign-in oddities and playback glitches.
  • Restart the app fully if it misbehaves. Swipe it away from the app switcher and reopen it before trying anything more drastic.
  • Sign-in problems are usually typing problems. Retype your details slowly, watching for capital letters and spaces, before assuming anything bigger is wrong.
  • On iPad, rotate and settle in. The bigger screen makes the iPad the closest thing to a portable TV — worth choosing over the phone for films when both are to hand.

Watching on your other screens too

Your iPhone or iPad can sit alongside a Firestick, Smart TV, Android phone, Mac or laptop on the same plan — each device has its own app or setup, which we send you when you need it. See the full list on our page, and if you have questions before you start, the ones we hear most are answered on our page.

What Broadband Speed Do You Need for IPTV?

A home Wi-Fi router in the foreground with a TV showing a boxing fight behind it, illustrating the broadband speed needed for IPTV.

"What speed do I need?" is one of the first questions people ask before trying IPTV — and one of the most confusing, because the numbers quoted online vary wildly. The honest answer is that it depends on two things: the picture quality you're streaming, and how many screens in your home are streaming at the same time. This guide gives typical industry guidance figures, explains how to work out your household's real requirement, and shows why the speed at your TV often matters more than the speed on your broadband bill.

The typical figures per stream

As general industry guidance — and it does vary between services and even between programmes — a single stream typically needs around:

  • Standard definition (SD): roughly 3–5 Mbps
  • High definition (HD): roughly 10–15 Mbps
  • 4K (Ultra HD): roughly 25 Mbps or more

These are guidelines, not guarantees: live sport in HD, with lots of fast movement, tends to sit towards the hungrier end of the HD range, while a drama in SD needs very little. The key point is that even HD — the quality most people watch most of the time — needs far less than most modern UK broadband packages provide at the router. If you'd like the wider picture on costs as well as speeds, our guide to covers the pricing side.

The household maths: 1, 2 or 3 devices

One stream is rarely the whole story. What matters is your busiest moment — Friday evening, one person on the main TV, another on a tablet, a third on their phone. Streams add up roughly like this, using the HD figure of around 10–15 Mbps per screen:

  • 1 device watching: around 10–15 Mbps in use
  • 2 devices watching at once: around 20–30 Mbps
  • 3 devices watching at once: around 30–45 Mbps

Add headroom for everything else your connection does — phones updating, laptops working, games downloading — and a household that regularly runs three screens at once will be comfortable on a typical fibre package, while a single viewer can manage on much less. This is also why our plans are built around how many screens watch at the same time: , so the plan and the broadband question are really the same question about your household's busiest hour.

Package speed vs speed at the screen

The number on your broadband deal is the speed delivered to your router. What reaches the TV depends on your Wi-Fi: distance, walls, and which other devices are competing. It's common for a healthy 60 Mbps package to deliver half that — or less — at a TV in a far corner of the house. So before concluding your broadband is too slow, test the speed on the device you actually watch on. If the figure at the screen is much lower than at the router, the fix is usually Wi-Fi, not a bigger package: our guide to works through router position, Wi-Fi bands and wired options, and most of it applies to any device.

A quick worked example

Say your package is around 50 Mbps. Two people streaming HD at once use roughly 20–30 Mbps between them, leaving 20–30 Mbps for phones, work and everything else — comfortable. If the main TV only receives 12 Mbps over Wi-Fi, though, that TV can still stutter while the rest of the house is fine, because its individual share is borderline for HD. Both things can be true at once: enough broadband overall, and a weak spot at one screen.

Data allowances and other connections

On a normal home broadband package with unlimited data, streaming amounts are rarely a concern. Speed matters more than total data at home. If you ever watch over a mobile connection instead, the picture changes — streaming uses data at a rate that varies with quality and time watched — which we touch on in our guide to watching on .

The bottom line

For most UK households, the broadband they already have is enough for IPTV: one HD screen needs only around 10–15 Mbps at the device, and even three simultaneous screens sit within a typical fibre package's reach. Check the speed where you watch, match your plan to the number of screens in your busiest hour, and you're set. If you're choosing a plan now, shows all the options, and our cover the other things people usually ask before starting.

IPTV Smarters Pro Not Working? Fixes for Login Failed and Playback Errors

A TV showing a football match with a refresh icon on the screen and a remote in the foreground, illustrating an IPTV Smarters Pro not working fix.

If your IPTV comes through the IPTV Smarters Pro app, you may sooner or later meet its least welcome screens: "Login Failed", a playback error, or a blank screen that never loads. A quick bit of context first: Smarters Pro is a player app that many different IPTV providers use — it isn't a service in itself, so the login details, server address and subscription behind it all come from whichever provider you signed up with. That also means the fixes below are the ones that work for most people, whichever provider set you up. And to be clear about our own setup: doesn't rely on one shared player app — we send each customer the right app or setup for their specific device as part of getting started.

Fix 1: Retype your login details exactly

"Login Failed" is most often a typing problem, not an account problem. Usernames and passwords for these apps are case-sensitive, and a single wrong character — or an extra space copied at the beginning or end — will fail the login. Retype both slowly and exactly as your provider sent them. If you're copying from a message or email, make sure nothing extra came along for the ride. If your provider gave you your details in a specific format, enter them in that format exactly, without tidying anything up.

Fix 2: Check the server address (portal URL)

Most Smarters-style logins also involve a server address, sometimes called a portal URL, alongside the username and password. If that address is even slightly wrong — one character, a missing section, or an old address your provider has since changed — the app can't reach the server and the login fails even with a correct username and password. Compare what's in the app character by character against what your provider gave you. If your provider has ever sent you a new address, make sure the app is using the latest one, not the original.

Fix 3: Check your connection

No app can log in without a working connection. Open something else online on the same device — a website or another streaming app — to confirm the device is actually connected. If the device is on Wi-Fi, try restarting the router, or moving the device closer to it, and try again. If everything else in the house is offline too, the problem is your internet connection rather than the app.

Fix 4: Clear the app's cache

Like most apps, Smarters Pro stores temporary files that can occasionally get into a bad state and cause playback errors or endless loading. On most devices you can clear them from the system settings — on a Firestick, for example, it's Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications, select the app, then Clear cache. Clearing the cache doesn't remove your login or the app; it just clears temporary data, and the app rebuilds what it needs. More Firestick help is in our .

Fix 5: Restart the device

Fully close the app and restart the device itself — not just sleep, an actual restart or a 30-second unplug for TV devices. A restart clears temporary glitches that build up over weeks of standby, and it's remarkable how often a playback error simply doesn't come back after one.

Fix 6: Reinstall the app (last resort)

If none of the above works, deleting and reinstalling the app gives you a clean slate. Only do this if you still have your login details and server address from your provider, because you'll need to enter them again from scratch. Reinstall from the same place you originally got the app, then enter your details carefully, exactly as Fix 1 describes.

If it still won't work

If you've worked through the list and the app still refuses to log in or play, the remaining causes usually sit on the provider's side — for example, a subscription that's lapsed or details that need reissuing — so that's the point to contact your provider with a note of what the error message says and what you've already tried. That detail saves a lot of back-and-forth.

And if you're setting up fresh rather than fixing someone else's setup: with UK Fire TV, we send you the app or setup matched to your device — Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone & iPad, Mac or laptop each have their own — along with your sign-in, so you're not left hunting for portal addresses.
